Feeling overwhelmed by the growing number of children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)? Unsure of the terminology and how best to support these children in the classroom?

Then this training session is for you.

Join us to build your confidence in supporting children with SLCN on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Learners will gain a clear understanding of the key terminology, the link between language and learning, and practical strategies that make a real difference.

Discover how small changes in the way you communicate, and present information can significantly improve a child’s understanding, engagement, and progress. Learn how to create inclusive learning opportunities that empower children with SLCN to develop independence and confidently participate in class-based activities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and understand the complex skills that work together to facilitate the development of robust communication skills
  • Understand how SLCN can manifest across real year groups by studying and discussing “real” examples.
  • Identify core strategies that work across all aspects of SLCN.
  • Plan specific intervention activities for three studied children with SLCN so that you have practical ideas to draw upon.
